Itinerary

Day 1

Tangier to Fes via Chefchaouen

Departure from Tangier: We begin our journey by leaving Tangier and heading south into the Rif Mountains. Enjoy scenic views of olive groves and rugged terrain along the way. Chefchaouen: We arrive in Chefchaouen, the 'Blue Pearl'. Wander through its blue-painted streets, visit local craft shops, and soak up the relaxed atmosphere. We will stop here for lunch. Journey to Fes: In the afternoon, we continue our drive to Fes, where you will spend the night. Dinner and accommodation at your riad in Fes.

Day 2

Fes Sightseeing

Full-Day Tour: Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, the oldest of Morocco's imperial cities. Medina & Souks: We enter the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali medina. Navigate the narrow alleys, bustling souks, and historical monuments with a local guide. Highlights: Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the famous tanneries, the Royal Palace, and Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest university in the world. Cultural Insight: Learn about the city's rich history, architecture, and traditions.

Day 3

Fes to Merzouga

Middle Atlas Mountains: We leave Fes and ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains. We pass through Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture. Cedar Forest: We stop in the cedar forest near Azrou to see the Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Ziz Valley: We continue south via Midelt, the apple capital. We drive along the stunning Ziz Valley, offering panoramic views of palm groves and canyons. Arrival in Merzouga: We reach Merzouga in the late afternoon. Check-in at our hotel on the edge of the dunes.

Day 4

Merzouga Desert Exploration

4x4 Desert Excursion: After breakfast, we explore the desert region in a 4x4. We visit the village of Khamlia to listen to traditional Gnawa music. Nomad Families: We visit nomadic families living in tents and share tea while learning about their lifestyle. Camel Trek: In the afternoon, we set off on a camel trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. We stop to watch the sunset on our way to our camp. Desert Camp: Spend the night in a traditional Berber tent. Enjoy dinner and music under the stars.

Day 5

Merzouga to Dades Valley

Sunrise & Departure: Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we return to Merzouga on camels. Rissani Market: We visit the traditional market in Rissani (market days). Todra Gorges: We head to the Todra Gorges, known for their high limestone cliffs. Walk along the riverside and admire the scenery. Dades Valley: We continue to the Dades Valley where we will spend the night. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 6

Dades Valley to Marrakech

Valley of Roses: We drive through the Valley of Roses, known for its rose cultivation and annual festival. Ouarzazate & Studios: We arrive in Ouarzazate, the 'Hollywood of Africa'. We can visit the Atlas Film Studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Ait Ben Haddou: We explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning example of southern Moroccan architecture. High Atlas Mountains: We cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, enjoying the dramatic scenery. Arrival in Marrakech: We arrive in Marrakech in the evening, where we drop you off at your accommodation, concluding your 6-day journey.
