The core expectation for this 2-day trip is long, scenic drives punctuated by unforgettable desert moments. You are covering a huge distance (over $1,000 text{ km}$ / $620 text{ miles}$) in a short time.
This is primarily a travel day with scenic stops, culminating in the desert experience.
Early Start: Expect a very early pick-up, typically between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM.
Mountain Landscapes: The first part of the drive is through the Middle Atlas Mountains. You’ll see forests, winding roads, and changing landscapes.
Ifrane: A brief stop in the town often nicknamed “Moroccan Switzerland.”
Azrou Cedar Forest: A stop to see the magnificent cedar trees and, often, the wild Barbary Macaque monkeys.
The Oasis: You’ll drive through the Ziz Valley, which is a dramatic ribbon of green palm groves cutting through the arid landscape—a great photo stop.
The Desert Arrival: You’ll reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga in the late afternoon.
Camel Trek: Transfer to your camel for a ride into the dunes to watch the spectacular sunset.
Desert Night: Arrive at the Berber camp. Expect a traditional dinner, campfire with drumming and music, and a night of stargazing under a clear sky.
This day is even longer, combining the desert morning with an epic drive over the final mountain range.
Desert Sunrise: An early wake-up call is highly recommended to see the incredible sunrise over the sand dunes.
Journey Out: You’ll ride the camels or take a $4times4$ back to the starting point for breakfast.

Todgha Gorges: A chance to walk along the impressive $300 text{ m}$ high canyon walls.
Aït Benhaddou Kasbah: A photo stop or brief visit to the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous movie set.
The Final Climb: You will cross the towering High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (over $2,260 text{ m}$ / $7,415 text{ ft}$). This road is winding but offers breathtaking panoramic views.
Late Arrival in Marrakech: You will arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon/early evening, typically between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
