We then explore the tranquil Oudayas Kasbah and its beautiful Andalusian Gardens. In the late afternoon, we arrive in the mystical Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of the Rif Mountains, where you’ll begin exploring the unique, car-free Medina.
Departing the blue city, we journey (approx. 252 km) to the sprawling Roman ruins of Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved archaeological site, featuring incredible mosaic floors. Next, we visit Meknes, a city of grand scale, exploring the monumental Bab Mansour gateway and the vast Royal Stables and Granaries commissioned by Sultan Moulay Ismail. We conclude the day with a drive to Fes, checking into your hotel or riad for the night.
A full day is dedicated to a guided cultural immersion in Fes. We begin with a stop at the ornate gates of the Royal Palace and explore the distinct architecture of the Mellah (Jewish Quarter). Deep inside the Medina, we visit the historic Al Qaraouine University (exterior), a center of global scholarship. From a rooftop vantage point, we witness the age-old leather dyeing process at the Chouara Tanneries. We also see the revered Moulay Idriss II Mausoleum (exterior) and wander through the vibrant artisanal quarters and ancient souks.
The scenic journey (approx. 415 km) begins with a drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in the Cedar Forest near Azrou for a chance to see the playful Barbary macaques. We pause for a relaxed lunch in the mountain town of Midelt. The road then descends through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, a winding oasis of palms, before passing through Erfoud, the fossil capital. We arrive at Merzouga and check into a kasbah hotel at the foot of the massive Erg Chebbi dunes.
The day is devoted to experiencing the desert’s unique culture and terrain (approx. 45 km). We begin by visiting a local Nomad Village to interact with Berber families and gain insight into their traditional life. We return to the kasbah hotel for a local culinary lunch. In the late afternoon, your quintessential camel trek begins, taking you into the massive Erg Chebbi Dunes. You’ll witness a spectacular desert sunset as you ride, culminating in your personal desert camp for a traditional dinner, music, and a night beneath the starry sky.
After enjoying a desert sunrise and breakfast, we depart the dunes (approx. 269 km). We first stop in Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop. Our route then leads to the spectacular Todra Gorges, where you can take a short, invigorating walk between the towering limestone canyon walls. The final drive takes us into the picturesque Dades Valley, known for its unique red rock formations and ancient kasbahs, where we’ll settle into our accommodation for the night.

We leave Taroudant and head to the Atlantic Coast (approx. 303 km). Our first coastal stop is the modern resort city of Agadir, rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake, where you’ll have a chance to enjoy the sea air and a seaside lunch. We then continue up the scenic coast to Essaouira, the charming coastal town known for its historic ramparts, vibrant fishing port, and strong Portuguese, French, and Berber heritage.
We leave the coast and head inland (approx. 191 km) toward Marrakesh, driving through forests dominated by argan trees. We stop at a local Argan Oil Cooperative, run by Berber women, to observe the production process. We’ll also make a quick photo stop to capture the unusual sight of goats climbing the argan trees. Upon arrival in the Red City of Marrakesh, we check into a traditional riad in the medina.
A guided city tour reveals Marrakesh’s historical heart. We start by admiring the Koutoubia Mosque and its iconic minaret. We visit the hidden, highly ornate Saadian Tombs and then explore the sprawling 19th-century Bahia Palace. The afternoon is reserved for the tranquil Majorelle Gardens and a dive into the electric atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square and the surrounding souks.
Enjoy a flexible day to relax or explore further. You can revisit the Marrakesh Medina at your leisure, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy a traditional hammam. Alternatively, opt for a scenic Ourika Valley Excursion, just outside the city. This trip offers cool mountain air, a look at Berber villages, and views of terraced fields in the High Atlas foothills. The evening is your final opportunity for a rooftop dinner overlooking the bustling city square.
After breakfast, we begin the scenic transfer (approx. 241 km) back to Casablanca. The drive provides a final opportunity to appreciate Morocco’s diverse landscapes. Upon arrival in Casablanca, you’ll check into your final hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure—perfect for a stroll along the Corniche or a relaxing coffee by the ocean.
Enjoy a final Moroccan breakfast at your hotel. At the appropriate time, your private driver will provide a seamless transfer to Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, concluding your memorable 15-day Moroccan Odyssey.

You can bring one medium-sized suitcase and a small backpack. For the desert part, it’s best to pack a smaller backpack with essentials.
Wi-Fi is available at most hotels and riads along the route, but desert camps generally don’t have Wi-Fi due to their remote location.
