Journey through Draa Valley: After breakfast in Ouarzazate, our drive heads toward the immense Draa Valley, Moroccou2019s longest river valley, renowned for its fertility and beauty. The route features striking rock formations, endless palm groves, and traditional mud-brick hamlets that have sustained life for centuries.nStop at Nkob: We pause for a short break in Nkob, a tranquil Berber community known for its concentration of historic kasbahs and serving as a starting point for treks into the Jbel Saghro mountains.nExploring the Rissani Market: Next, we arrive in Rissani, an ancient desert hub that once marked the beginning of major trans-Saharan trade caravans. Dune Sunrise: We begin the day early with a peaceful camel ride back from the camp. In Hassilabied, observe local life and farming near the dunes. Then, we visit Khamlia, a village celebrated for its indigenous Gnawa musicians and their unique, spiritual music.nNomad Visit & 4x4 Exploration: In the afternoon, we venture deeper into the desert in a 4x4 vehicle. We'll visit nomadic families living in traditional tents, gaining insight into their resilient lifestyle. We may also visit the Miffis mines or search for fossils.nEvening in Merzouga: After a full day of desert immersion, we return to a hotel in Merzouga village for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Departure from Merzouga: After breakfast, we leave the dunes behind and head towards the Atlas Mountains.nTodra Gorges: We reach the spectacular Todra Gorges, a massive fault in the plateau dividing the High Atlas from the Jbel Saghro. We'll walk beneath the towering 300-meter high red cliffs and enjoy the cool river breeze.nDades Valley: We continue our journey to the Dades Valley, driving through the 'Road of a Thousand Kasbahs'. The valley offers stunning scenery with its colorful rock formations and lush green fields. We'll stop for photos at the 'Monkey Fingers' rock formation before arriving at our hotel in the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.
Valley of Roses: We start the day driving through the Valley of Roses, famous for its rose products.nOuarzazate & Studios: We pass through Ouarzazate again, possibly visiting the Atlas Film Studios if missed on Day 1 or simply enjoying the views of the Taourirt Kasbah.nHigh Atlas Return: We begin our ascent back over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass. We'll have opportunities for lunch and photo stops along the winding mountain roads.nArrival in Marrakech: We arrive back in Marrakech in the late afternoon/evening, where we will drop you off at your accommodation, concluding your 5-day desert adventure.
